Cefuroxime

Cefuroxime is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and Lyme disease. It works by stopping bacteria from building their cell walls, which kills the bacteria. It comes in oral (tablets, suspension) and injectable forms, and is usually well-tolerated. Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, and mild stomach upset. Like all antibiotics, it’s important to finish the full course to prevent antibiotic resistance.
